Farming in the sky

Clive mentioned sustainable sky farms in his presentation the other day, and I think it is a relevant for our class. This idea is already on the tables for the Masdar City project and should be considered in all major urban areas. The idea is to localize the production of grown foods so that we can cut down on both land usage and transportation costs. It is projected by 2025 that 60% percent of the worlds population will reside in cities, so unless we figure out a more sustainable solution to farming, we are looking at a lot of problems in our immediate future.
